2023 Nocturne 'SR' Rosé2023 Nocturne 'SR' Rosé$36.00
A blush of pinky orange, it’s zesty, bright and moreish from the first to the last sip. Expect a dash of red fruits, spice, licorice, red of course and a touch of pomegranate molasses without the sweetness, just the intense flavours, which cruise along this rippin’ rosé. The tempranillo, comprising 7% of the blend, is whole-bunch pressed to old oak puncheons, which adds to the texture, a slip of creamy lees to bolster the palate. A delicious rosé. 95 points. Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion Dec 2023
2023 Corymbia Tempranillo / Malbec2023 Corymbia Tempranillo / Malbec$47.00
Plenty of exotic spice, liquorice, walnut, new leather, cherry, blueberry, seaweed. Medium-bodied, a lovely grainy grip and chew to tannin, cherry, boysenberry and a pippy freshness to acidity, suffused with a ferrous and ‘mineral’ feel, umami and nutty, with a bright and flavoursome finish of excellent length. Texture. Charisma. Such a good wine. All the slate and good things that the Swan Valley can deliver. Superb. 95 points. Gary Walsh, The Wine Front Feb 2024
2023 Corymbia Chenin Blanc2023 Corymbia Chenin Blanc$36.00
Corymbia calophylla is the botanical name for the West Australian marri tree which grows tall and strong on the state’s best vineyard sites. The image is a graphical expression of the 12-month climatic data for the vintage year, whose form represents the marri blossom in full bloom. The 365 stamens represent the daily minimum and maximum temperatures against the monthly average.  The darker colored blocks represent the monthly & average rainfall. January is at 12 o'clock and the red stamen is the harvest date. The infographic mimics our natural environment as its form changes subtly each year and is the purest expression of the vintage conditions in which our fruit was grown. 2023 Corymbia Cabernet Franc2023 Corymbia Cabernet Franc$59.00
Calgardup Vineyard. So good of Corymbia to bottle a straight CF. 50 dozen made. Ripe raspberry, cherry pip, pomegranate juice, aniseed, grilled hazelnut, mint and seaweed. Medium-bodied, a smoky umami kombu thing happening here, tang of blood orange, and yet a juicy raspberry energy which is so compelling. Hazelnut skin tannin, nutty and flavoursome on a finish of excellent length. Some sun-dried tomato here too, but gee, it’s a wine of specific character from a great vineyard. Saline. Savoury. Dry and ‘minerally’. Very good. 94 points. Gary Walsh, The Wine Front Feb 2024
2022 Nocturne Single-Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon2022 Nocturne Single-Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon$63.00
Cabernet off the Sheaok Vineyard, and it’s a beauty (although it comes in a way-too-heavy bottle about 1.5kg when full). No complaints about the flavour profile of blackberry essence and cassis, cedary oak spices and toasted nori, black olive tapenade and menthol. It’s fuller bodied with a ping of lively acidity, and the tannins are lovely – ripe yet with a cocoa-powder texture. Understandably there’ll be a desire to open this now, but it will garner more complexity with age. 95 points. Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion 2024
2022 Nocturne 'SR' Rosé2022 Nocturne 'SR' Rosé$36.00
This has the Julian Langworthy trademark rose-gold blush and texture. The 88% sangiovese is destemmed and left on lees for three months; the 8% tempranillo is whole-bunch pressed to old oak. The remaining 4% is grenache. This comes together beautifully. Fragrant with florals, red licorice, freshly grated ginger and a tinge of red berries. The palate is perfectly modulated between the super-refreshing acidity and its creamy texture. 95 points. Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion 2023
2022 Nocturne 'SR' Chardonnay2022 Nocturne 'SR' Chardonnay$40.00
Julian Langworthy crafts scintillating chardonnay, this is as good as ever. It starts out tight, linear and citrusy yet unfurls and builds. Hints of stone fruit, creamy nutty lees, and overall, a very pure expression. Moreish and savoury with mouth-watering acidity; it’s long, pure, refined and very classy. Quite effortless – to drink. 95 points. Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion 2024
2022 Nocturne 'SR' Cabernets2022 Nocturne 'SR' Cabernets$40.00
The final blend 69% cabernet sauvignon, 21% merlot and 10% malbec, and it feels light as much as a delight. Cassis, mulberries and baking spices plus licorice and a ferrous note. The palate is a tad fuller this vintage with raw silk tannins sashaying throughout. Best of all, ready to pour right now. 93 points. Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion 2024
