Matrot’s 2017 Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes was still a little shut down, having been bottled last week, but with coaxing it offers up a textbook nose of dried white flowers, fresh pears, buttered apples and mint. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, satiny textured and pure with brisk acids and a deep, tight-knit core. 92+ points. William Kelley, Wine Advocate Discreet but not invisible wood frames spicy aromas of citrus, apple, hazelnut and acacia blossom. The succulent, delicious and medium weight flavors exude both a subtle minerality as well as an interesting note of quinine on the clean, dry and focused finale. This too could use a bit more depth but the potential is here for that to reasonably occur. 91 points. Allen Meadows, Burghound
