Made using lagrein, sangiovese, nero d’Avola and negroamaro, mostly, with various other Italian varieties tossed in. Hand picked, wild fermented and matured in old oak. It’s a winner. It’s a beautiful drinking style. It’s mid weight at most but it lashes spice, chalk and tannin to a mast of red/black cherried fruit. It’s chewy, dry and mouth-puckering, in a good way. In short, there’s much to admire here. 92 points – Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
