Red and black cherry, exotic spice, dried roses, and some sweet damp earthiness. It’s tight and quite tangy in acidity, with layers of graphite tannin, some pomegranate tartness here, but also has flavour and a long and firm finish. It’s kind of old school Burgundy style in a way, just the essential bits and little excess, and quite demanding and uncompromising as a young wine. I like it, but it’s not really a wine to drink now. I think it will be very good with quite a few years under its belt.
