Raspberry, red cherry, pencil and spice oak, a rosy perfume too, along with a subtle earthiness. It’s light in body, yet doesn’t want for flavour, or firm fine shapely emery board tannin, crisp and precise, with earth and perfume, a cranberry freshness on a long and focussed finish. It’s a beautiful wine, discreet and bony, and one that looks like it will really sing with a fair bit of bottle age. Very ‘mineral’ in feel too. Quite different to many local Pinot Noir, but in a good way.
