2019 Scorpo Pinsanto Late Harvest Pinot Gris 375ml

2019 Scorpo Pinsanto is a lusciously sweet wine from late-picked fruit. The canes of these Pinot Gris vines were cut on 17th April 2019, with the grapes picked and processed five weeks later, in late May. The juice was settled for three days and racked to barrel for fermentation. It was racked to tank in mid-July at 140g/L residual sugar. Total acidity 7g/L.
This presents an elegant package displaying fresh aromas of fig, apricot, pear and mixed herbs on the nose. Hints of crème brulée linger behind, a reminder that there is a richness and sweetness present. The palate is textural and reminiscent of biting into a fresh Green Genoa fig. It is unctuous but with some crunch and pithiness to balance it out. There are also hints of mango skin and candied peach rounding out the layers of this fresh, yet sweet wine.
