An elegant Shiraz, reminiscent of the first wines made in Coonawarra.
Vintage 2020 was typified by small crops and great natural acidity. Fruit from 45-year-old vines from the Paulownia and Balnaves Old Shiraz blocks was picked at the start of April and matured in large format French oak (48% new) for 9 months, before bottling in March.
The wine is vibrant red in colour with an aromatic nose of red plum and mulberry. Lifted red fruit on the palate complemented by sweet vanilla spice from the oak.
