So I tasted the 2021 at the winery the other week, but realised I’d not tried the 2020 as yet, and now I look further, I can see I’ve not reviewed one since vintage 2017. So here we are.
All red fruits, some floral notes, a little spice and new leather. Medium-bodied at most, quite frisky in acidity, juicy red fruits with a savoury twist, a chalky feel to tannin, and a twist of orange peel on a finish of vigour and solid length. A fresher, more perky iteration of this wine, it feels, but excellent to drink. Almost like a bolder style of Pinot Noir in a way. 92 points. – Gary Walsh, The Wine Front July 2022
