Wolta Wolta is a place with lots of water where wild birds come to drink. It’s been a wine in previous releases with seductive perfume and fine texture, and I always look forward to tasting it. Ahead of GW this time. Underripe pineapple, peachy quality and lots of nutty pastry complexity. Preserved lemons and salty cashews. Bitter skin of grapefruit and seaspray nuance. Lemon meringue pie. There’s a strong theme here of lemony tang but with plenty of biscuity complexity. Very appetising. It has a very sour and herbaceous overtone. Lingering, no doubt, long finish, you bet, flavours run deep, for sure. Melting, fine texture. This is very good now, but I feel like it needs a bit of time to settle. – 94+ points.
