2021 Stoney Rise Pinot Noir

This latest release of Stoney Rise Pinot Noir is 90% fruit from our vineyards and 10% from our grower vineyards. 15% of the fruit is from our 35-year-old, dry-grown vines. 5% goes into new oak, with the rest in large-format old oak. It’s a very fresh, crisp style this vintage. There are lots of fresh fruits and our usual zingy acidity. It will develop some flesh over the next 6 months, if you have the patience. – Lou & Joe Holyman

“This year, 90% estate grown grapes, mainly younger vines, with a percentage of old vine fruit to give it a boost. I think I got that right. Joe Holyman dropped in this morning, and I’m usually so busy admiring him, that I can’t focus on the listening part. Bright, red fruits, paprika, dusting of cinnamon. Light and feathery, with nutty flavours, bright acidity, a fine powdery tannin texture, and a firm red cherry and red fruited finish. Very nice. Brisk, but ever so tasty.” – 93 points.
