Lime, pink grapefruit, bath salts, a little spice, thyme and generally good waft of perfume. It’s intense, with a grapefruit pith and gin and tonic flavour, lime/lemon sorbet, a stony chalky feel, clean acidity, excellent length, with a pleasing quinine and lime zest tang to close. Notes
As the third generation of the Barry winemaking family, we now hold the keys to this boutique winery. Riesling is the Clare Valley’s signature variety and this is our 15th vintage from clos Clare’s Riesling patch, adjoining the historic ‘Florita’ vineyard in Watervale. The 52-year-old dry grown vines were hand-harvested and taken to The Wilson Vineyard at Polish Hill River, where they were chilled for 24 hours prior to whole bunch pressing and vinification.
Clean, ripe citrus and delicate florals on the nose. The palate is generous on the entry, tasty citrus florals with a hint of white peach, orange blossoms and daphne, the flow is generous yet restrained, a really good looking wine. – Tom & Sam Barry
