They say good things come in threes, and rounding out the ‘Parcellaire’ wines is a 100% Chardonnay from the mighty Oger Grand Cru in the Côte des Blancs. Three plots are harvested for ‘Les Peignottes’ that were planted in 1920, 1975 and 1990 on pure chalk soils. 45% fermented in old Burgundian barrels, aged on lees for 5 years and bottled with zero dosage.
The wine is a bundle of chalk driven nervous energy and tension but at no points is aggressive or abrasive. A brilliant and engaging wine. – Adrien Bergère
