Grown on soils of alluvial origin, characterized by calcareous clayey mantle. South exposure, 280 above sea level.
The wine undergoes maceration and alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled vats for average period of 15 days. Malolactic fermentation done in used French oak barrels, followed by 24 months of ageing. Finally, bottle ageing for about 12 months.
The wine is pale ruby red, with aromas of ripe raspberry, chalk and leather. The palate is complex and structured, with herbal and spicy notes. Tannins are soft and silky; the finish is wide but precise. – La Spinetta
