80% of the grapes for the Blaufränkisch Moric Reserve comes from the steep slate and limestone slopes in Neckenmarkt and 20% from the sandy and clayey soils on the Lutzmann plateau, which is situated on a limestone subsoil. Grown on 25 to 55 year old vines, fermentation with spontaneous yeasts, open mash fermentation for 3 weeks, 20 months aging in 500 to 1000 litre barrels, no fining, no filtration. – Moric
