This estate Auslese from Eva Clüsserath showcases the majesty of this intense but dancing style. The slate soils absorb warmth and release it slowly over an extended period, promoting a good transformation of acids by the vines. The result is a delicate acidity mingling with spicy, powerful minerality.
The grapes are always hand-harvested and gently pressed. The must ferments with native yeasts in traditional Mosel fuder barrels and is left on the lees until May. Eva Clüsserath’s Riesling Auslese has delicate fruit aromas of ripe apple, lychee, nectarine and fine lemon, which linger on a long finish.
