There’s plenty of grip to this wine, as you’d expect. It almost feels chewy. It tastes saline and floral, its core ripped with woodsmoke, Campari and nuts. Notes
The Mother Block Skin Contact wine is a blend of white varieties Vermentino (from Sardinia, Liguria and Tuscany), Fiano (Campania, Southern Italy), touches of Ansonica (also known as Inzolia, from western Sicily) and Pecorino (Italy’s eastern coastal regions) and Moscato Giallo (northern Italy). The wine, slightly cloudy, with six to eight weeks of skin contact evident in its veritable aromatic kaleidoscope of fresh pineapple, fejoia and guava with lashings of lemon and lime. Vietmanese mint, coconut water and wet river stone notes.
On the palate it has bitter lemon, loads of pulpy cantelope, custard apple, chalky texture, and a grippy herbal lift.
