Blended from Coal Valley (50%), East Coast (29%) and Tamar Valley (21%). Parcels were fermented at cooler temperatures in stainless steel tank with a variety of selected yeast strains to deliver rich, spicy Pinot Gris characters. To add richness and complexity a small portion was fermented to old French oak, lees stirred and blended back.
It’s an incredible, rich expression of cool climate Tasmanian Pinot Gris. The wine is pale straw in colour with gold hues and has aromas of white nectarine, poached pear, with hints of cinnamon spice. One the palate, it is richly weighted with integrated fruit of pear and ripe stone fruit laced with delicate spice.
It’s best enjoyed in its with, this wine will continue to please for the next 3 years. – Liam McElhinney, Strelley Farm
