Strelley Farm
About Strelley Farm
Strelley Farm is located on Brinktop Road just 650 metres from the historic town of Richmond and the Coal River. Established in the early 1800s, Richmond was a popular stopover for people travelling between Hobart in the south and Launceston in the north. Today, Richmond is one of Tasmania’s most popular tourist destinations with beautiful heritage buildings and Australia’s oldest stone bridge.
Located in the Coal River Valley wine region, Strelley Farm Estate is one of Tasmania’s newest, most exciting and impressive viticultural & winegrowing projects. With the wines being carefully coaxed into bottle by the gentle hand of gun winemaker Liam McElhinney, they showcase exactly why this corner of Tasmania is one of the most exciting hotbeds for Pinot Noir production in the world today. It is early days for Strelley Farm but given the quality of the first few releases from Liam and the team it is going be an exciting journey watching the wines grown on the property evolve, with Chardonnay, Gamay and Pinot Meunier all planted and due to come on line as and when the vines reach maturity.
