Mornington does a good line in Pinot Gris, and Will Byron is a very good winemaker. And kind of handsome too, though that doesn’t influence my rating. Well, maybe a little.

This is very good. It’s classic Gris, but shows some restraint. I’m thinking nashi pear and spice, a musky and floral/vanilla perfume. It’s fresh, but delivers flavour, and the gently chalky texture is most excellent, offering a crisp yet slippery finish of excellent length, and my word, this is a textbook example of how to knock out a Pinot Gris that’s balanced and lovely to drink. 94 points.
