A New Corsican Chapter
At CellarHand, bringing new producers into the portfolio is always a thrilling milestone and meeting Jean-Marc and Manu Venturi last year was just about the highlight of our year. It’s a privilege to meet winemakers with such deep-rooted passion for their craft, and tell the story of a region that is as fierce and beautiful as the wine themselves.
Founded by Jean-Marc Venturi in the 1980s, the original vineyards were planted in 1901 by Jean Vico, who wanted to establish a benchmark vineyard uniquely located in Corsica’s rugged interior. This extraordinary inland terroir, framed by towering mountain peaks, sets Domaine Vico apart from the coastal vineyards that typify Corsican wine. Jean-Marc invested decades into nurturing this estate, working tirelessly to build an estate that reflects the natural grandeur of its surroundings.
Today, his son Manu leads the next chapter, having returned to Corsica with a deep-rooted commitment to the land. With his own project in mind, he developed Clos Venturi, a vineyard within a vineyard, harnessing a special cooler microclimate and distinctive soils to create wines with a powerful sense of place.
It is an honour to welcome these two new producers to the CellarHand family. These wines carry the spirit of Corsica, a blend of wild beauty, resilience, and innovation—a story we’re so excited to share with you.
