Generally disregarded in the Muskateller family, Muskat Ottonel is another aromatic curio with which Heinz excels. As with the Welschriesling above, in order to allow the grape to shine Heinz ensures they are given sufficient time to reach physiological ripeness in the vineyard.
Once more, spontaneously fermented to dryness in stainless steel, and allowed time on lees to develop further structure, this beautifully fragrant wine doesn’t forgo any of its aromatic qualities, rather it exhibits the wonderful fresh florals associated with the variety albeit through a slightly more rounded & complex lens. – Velich
