Notes
Shiraz 85%, Touriga Nacional 5%, and Malbec 10%
Deep crimson with purple hues. Rich, dense fruit notes on the nose. Plum, blackberries and cherries are balanced by a hint of oak and spice. A touch of black pepper adds to the complexity. Juicy, textural introduction leads to a long fleshy finish on the palate. Medium weighted, spicey mid palate. Hints of plum and mulberry add to the alure of this wine.
The small additions of Touriga Nacional and Malbec gives complexity and aromatic lift followed with subtle texture. Good acidity and fine tannins combine to create a soft finishing, well weighted cool climate style. Ideal food wine which will complement many dishes including pork, lamb and duck. Drink now for the next 5 to 7 years.
The 2021 vintage was really positive for Shiraz. Everything looked good, the crop was a healthy size and everything ripened beautifully. We picked in April, pretty late but the fruit was aromatically charged with lots of spice and pepper.
