Domäne Wachau Beerenauslese is a blend of Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Blanc and Gelber Muskateller from terraced vineyards throughout the Wachau. The wine reflects the elegant and precise style and character of Wachau sweet wines.Great sweet wine from Wachau grape varieties. Fine honey-spicy aroma – perfect for Kaiserschmarrn!

This Beerenauslese consists of several grape varieties (around half is Riesling, 20% Grüner Veltliner, and approx. 15% of Yellow Muscat and Pinot Blanc and the grapes for this sweet wine come from various terraced vineyards throughout the country Wachau. The focus is on the elegant and precise character of Wachau.

Vintage 2022: A mild and dry winter was followed by a wet April, which left the soil with sufficient moisturized. The vines benefited from this on the often very hot summer days. Unfortunately the weather worsened in September. We had especially at the beginning of the harvest always having to deal with rain. Fortunately, the sun returned in October back and let the grapes ripen slowly but perfectly. The result is elegant and precise wines that impress with a lot of energy and excitement and are vital on the palate Combine acidity, clarity and substance.

The vineyards are becoming sustainable and increasingly organic with no insecticides and herbicides processed and read by hand. Selected Wachau locations were cultivated specifically for sweet wines and the vineyards were protected from bird damage with nets protected. The Riesling in particular was perfect for high-quality Botrytis grapes suitable. A corresponding proportion of healthy grape material is also crucial, to obtain fruit and precision. The controlled fermentation and expansion in Stainless steel tank provided elegance and structure.

Open and distinctive in scent; strong fruit aromas, forest blossom honey, exotic Fruit notes, physalis, mango, passion fruit, a touch of citrus, and delicate Meadow herbs, very complex and deep; sweet and very harmonious on the palate refreshing acidity balances the wine perfectly, the fruit aromas continue; powerful, lively and very long-lasting. This Beerenauslese goes perfectly well chilled with pies, goose liver and light desserts. A dream for Kaiserschmarrn! The wine is now ready to drink and has potential for another 6 to 8 years of storage. – Domane Wachau
