There’s a lot of thought goes into making wines at Punt Road. Tim Shand is something of an alchemist in the winery. Red fruit, some fennel, also quite smoky too. It delivers a good amount of flavour with fine chalky tannin, a little drying, but with strawberry in a lipstick mouth sweetness to temper, along with brown spices and dried herb. A nice bit of complexity, and some grip on a solid finish. It’s drinking very well now, which is good news too.
